- Complete bank and credit card reconciliations and quickly investigate and resolve any variances.
- Keep financial records complete, accurate, and prepared for audit review, with all necessary support documentation in place.
- Drive or assist with month-end close work such as accruals, close checklists, reconciliations, and final close deliverables.
- Build monthly reporting packages, including profit and loss, balance sheet, and cash flow statements, along with variance commentary.
- Maintain a dependable weekly and month-end accounting rhythm while meeting all deadlines consistently.
- Refine accounting workflows, templates, and controls to improve efficiency and reduce mistakes.
- Communicate progress, blockers, and financial updates clearly to internal and external stakeholders.
Requirements
- Between 3 and 7+ years of experience in bookkeeping, accounting, or controller-type responsibilities.
- Proven experience with reconciliations, month-end close, and financial reporting.
- Strong ownership mentality, attention to detail, and reliable follow-through on assigned work.
- Comfort working within defined processes and consistently meeting deadlines.
- Excellent spoken and written English communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a remote, distributed, US-facing setup.
- Advanced comfort with Excel or Google Sheets for reporting and reconciliation work.
- Experience in multi-entity accounting or finance operations is an advantage.
- Exposure to US accounting processes, tax-adjacent workflows, or advisory firm environments is considered a bonus.
Benefits and conditions
- Fully remote contractor arrangement.
- Competitive compensation paid in USD and aligned with experience.
- 20 days of PTO plus US public holidays.
- Hands-on exposure to US accounting, tax workflows, and client-facing finance operations.
- Opportunity to work with founders, CEOs, and CFO-level stakeholders.
- Well-defined operating structure with a clear month-end cadence.
- Room to grow within a fast-paced finance and advisory team.
