About the Role
Singapore Pools is hiring a professional and enthusiastic Operator to support the Wagering Control team in Singapore. Reporting to the Assistant Manager, this role focuses on keeping raceday data accurate and carrying out operational steps in line with the Betting Control Centre (BCC) procedures. The company also notes that candidates with strengths in either operations or systems are encouraged to apply.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor race activity, ensure sales are stopped on schedule, and immediately flag any unusual situations to the BCC Executive.
- After verification by the BCC Executive, key in provisional results into the betting system so they can be shown on the Electronic Display System (EDS) and Horse Racing Channel (HRC) for customers.
- Keep raceday details updated correctly and promptly in the web portal.
- Work with the Data Centre standby team to halt sales when a race starts if the BCC Operator’s system becomes unresponsive.
- Post race results on the corporate website, carry out withdrawal actions, and switch on the “Inquiry” or “Objection” function once instructed and verified by the BCC Executive.
- Send meeting results to publishers after the meeting ends and maintain the department’s racing files in shared storage.
Requirements
- Minimum O Level qualification with a credit in English Language.
- Strong interpersonal abilities and clear communication skills.
- Good command of spoken and written English.
- Comfortable using common computer applications such as MS Word and Excel.
- Available to work weekends, public holidays, and rotating shift hours.
