It also identifies operational improvement opportunities and helps implement changes that can improve financial outcomes.
Work is completed within tight deadlines and combines strong analytics with strategic, operational, and financial expertise. The goal is to develop a clear growth narrative ahead of exit and deliver tailored solutions that help clients accelerate top-line growth, improve margins, and support a successful exit.
You will work closely with leading private equity firms and senior executives, gaining hands-on consulting exposure in an entrepreneurial environment.
What Success Looks Like
The firm is looking for people who are driven to raise standards, committed to client success, strong in critical thinking, effective communicators, and comfortable in fast-moving, demanding situations. The ideal candidate also wants to make a meaningful impact both within the firm and at client organizations.
Responsibilities
- Lead consulting teams made up of associates, business analysts, senior operating executives, and client stakeholders to ensure engagement success.
- Turn broad problem statements into focused issue trees and then into detailed team work plans.
- Manage client and team efforts within compressed timelines while adapting to evolving study needs.
- Support data collection, synthesis, analysis, and interviews with clients and third parties.
- Develop possible solutions, evaluate different scenarios, and turn findings into practical, evidence-based recommendations.
- Create clear, structured, and persuasive written materials for client discussions.
- Present conclusions and recommendations to clients and encourage constructive dialogue.
- Build strong relationships with private equity clients and portfolio company leaders.
- Contribute to proposal development, with Principals taking a leading role.
- Help build knowledge assets, mentor junior team members, support marketing and business development, and take part in recruiting.
- Take on additional responsibility as readiness and willingness allow.
Requirements
- MBA and a BS/BA in engineering, economics, or a similar quantitative discipline from a top-tier institution.
- 2 to 5 years of post-MBA experience in a top operations consulting firm, preferably in cost and working capital reduction, post-merger integration, operations strategy, supply chain optimization, product lifecycle management, procurement, sales and marketing effectiveness, pricing, service operations, or KPI improvement.
- 3 or more years of pre-MBA experience in strategy or operations consulting, a corporate role, investment banking, or private equity.
- Strong grasp of business fundamentals across market, financial, operational, and organizational areas.
- Solid financial and operational analysis skills, with working knowledge of tools such as Excel and Access.
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities, with the capacity to work effectively across all organizational levels and with private equity and portfolio company teams.
- Strategic thinking, strong attention to detail, and a structured approach to problem-solving using an 80/20 mindset.
- Results-driven and client-oriented, with the ability to deliver under tight deadlines and in data-poor environments.
- Willingness to travel and work from client sites up to 4 days per week.
- Passionate, energetic, self-starting, and entrepreneurial in outlook.
