Role Overview
LifeSouth Community Blood Centers is hiring a Time and Labor Administrator in Gainesville, Florida. This role is focused on keeping timekeeping, labor tracking, and payroll-related workflows accurate, compliant, and running smoothly. You will support payroll operations, protect data quality, review trends, and work with organizational leaders to strengthen time and labor practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the organization’s timekeeping platform and ensure alignment with internal policies and labor regulations.
- Stay current on local, state, and federal employment and labor rules, then recommend updates to HRIS settings or workflows as needed.
- Watch for data accuracy issues across time and labor systems and resolve problems, apply updates, and maintain employee time records.
- Review PTO plans and accruals to confirm employees are assigned correctly and balances are accurate.
- Regularly check timesheets, PTO submissions, and schedules for policy compliance.
- Support Finance with accurate, timely payroll processing and payroll audits.
- Study policy-compliance trends and share findings with Human Resources and General Counsel.
- Create standard reports and metrics that help managers track time-management compliance.
- Help build policies, SOPs, and training materials related to time and labor practices.
- Work with Accounting, Human Resources, and General Counsel on payroll, scheduling, compensation, and personnel issues.
- Contribute to projects and initiatives that affect compensation, timekeeping, and labor administration.
- Handle assigned projects and contract/agreement reviews.
- Safeguard employee information and maintain strict confidentiality.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, Accounting, or a related discipline.
- At least 3 years of professional HR experience, including exposure to time collection methods and labor administration.
- Strong computer proficiency, especially with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint; experience with specialized software is a plus.
- Strong command of Excel formulas and functions.
- Working knowledge of employment, HR, and labor laws at the local, state, and federal level.
- Understanding of the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA).
- Ability to build, analyze, and distribute management reports and metrics.
- Comfort handling sensitive employee relations matters confidentially.
- Strong root-cause analysis and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to take initiative and contribute to policy, procedure, and project development.
- Flexibility to manage varied assignments and multiple tasks at once.
- Ability to follow detailed oral and written directions.
- Working knowledge of Paylocity is strongly preferred.
- PHR or SPHR certification is preferred.

About the Organization
LifeSouth is a nonprofit community blood center serving more than 150 hospitals across Alabama, Florida, Georgia, and Tennessee. The organization focuses on meeting hospital blood supply needs by delivering high-quality blood components and services. Its network includes more than 45 donor centers, 55 bloodmobiles, and around 2,000 blood drives each month.
Additional Information
This is a full-time, onsite position based in Gainesville, Florida. The starting annual salary is between $60,000 and $66,000. A criminal background check and drug screening are required after a conditional offer of employment.
