Role Overview

This is a hands-on supply chain role based in El Segundo, CA, for someone who enjoys building practical systems in a fast-paced manufacturing setting. You will take ownership across purchasing, inventory, logistics, supplier coordination, and production support, working closely with Production, Engineering, Operations, and Finance to keep materials, equipment, tooling, consumables, and services flowing smoothly.

The position is ideal for a candidate who likes solving day-to-day operational problems, partnering across functions, and helping create scalable processes in a high-accountability environment.

Key Performance Areas

The main measures of success for this role are on-time delivery and purchase order cycle time.

Procurement and Purchasing

• Prepare, release, and track purchase orders for both direct and indirect materials, equipment, tooling, consumables, MRO items, and services.
• Gather supplier quotes and proposals, then review and compare them.
• Identify new vendors and look for opportunities to reduce costs.
• Work with suppliers to improve pricing, delivery lead times, and commercial terms.
• Push urgent orders forward and help resolve shipment delays or supplier-related issues.
• Keep purchasing records accurate and up to date in the company’s internal systems.
• Monitor supplier performance and contribute to vendor relationship management.

Supplier Management

• Assist with onboarding and qualifying suppliers.
• Maintain supplier documentation, records, and other supply chain data.
• Coordinate with vendors on order progress, delivery timelines, quality issues, and outstanding concerns.

Inventory and Material Control

• Support inventory control tasks such as cycle counts and full physical counts.
• Help improve inventory accuracy and replenishment processes.
• Coordinate movement of materials between departments and work areas.
• Maintain clean, organized, and easy-to-access storage locations.

Receiving, Shipping, and Logistics

• Assist with receiving by checking shipments against purchase orders and packing slips.
• Support stocking and organizing incoming materials.
• Help arrange outbound shipments and freight schedules.
• Prepare packaging, labeling, and shipment materials when needed.
• Track inbound and outbound freight and help resolve logistics problems.

Operational Support

• Help production stay on schedule by ensuring materials are available when needed.
• Contribute to supply chain process improvements and implementation efforts.
• Take part in special projects and other operational support work as required.
• Travel locally from time to time to suppliers, service providers, or customers for pickups, deliveries, or document handling.
• Handle other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Must meet ITAR and U.S. export control requirements, which means the applicant must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, asylee, or otherwise authorized to work under the applicable rules.
• Must be available for a full-time, W-2, onsite role in El Segundo, CA.
• An associate’s or bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Operations, Engineering, or a related discipline is required.
• At least 2–4 years of experience in purchasing, procurement, inventory, warehouse operations, manufacturing, or supply chain work is required.
• Strong comfort with technology, including Google Workspace and the ability to learn new software and business systems quickly.
• Excellent organization and time management abilities.
• Strong spoken and written communication skills.
• Ability to juggle multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Must be able to work extended hours and weekends when needed.

Preferred Experience

• Background in buying direct materials, MRO supplies, tooling, or capital equipment is preferred.
• Familiarity with inventory systems and supplier management methods is a plus.
• Experience using ERP and/or WMS platforms is preferred.

Compensation and Benefits

The level 2 salary range for this role is $70,000 to $95,000 per year, plus equity. Compensation will depend on the candidate’s experience, qualifications, and broader market and business factors.
