Role Overview
This opportunity is shared on behalf of a partner employer that oversees applications and subsequent hiring steps. The partner company is hiring a Senior IT Systems Engineer in Germany for a remote-first environment.
You will contribute to the design, scaling, and refinement of IT systems that serve a globally distributed team. The work centers on automating workflows, strengthening identity and access management, and improving the day-to-day technology experience for employees. The role brings together technical ownership, operational improvement, and strategic problem-solving, making it a strong fit for someone who enjoys tackling complex IT challenges in a fast-moving setting.
Key Accountabilities
- Run and improve identity and access management platforms, including SSO deployments and the automation of employee joiner/mover/leaver processes.
- Create and support automation flows that reduce manual work, simplify IT operations, and increase efficiency across the organization.
- Review SaaS application usage to uncover savings opportunities, improve license allocation, and make software spend more effective.
- Build reporting and analytics that highlight software costs, utilization patterns, renewal exposure, and optimization opportunities.
- Handle user access provisioning and removal with a focus on security, speed, and accuracy.
- Investigate IT incidents, resolve root causes, and put durable fixes in place to avoid repeat issues.
- Support endpoint management efforts, especially around delivering a strong macOS experience for users.
- Work closely with teams across technical and business functions to improve infrastructure, workflows, and service quality.
- Assess, implement, and maintain SaaS tools and productivity platforms used across the company.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of practical experience supporting, maintaining, and administering IT infrastructure in a growing organization.
- Strong background in identity and access management, with proven experience in SSO and user lifecycle administration.
- Hands-on experience creating automation workflows, integrations, and process improvements using APIs and modern automation tools.
- Experience managing SaaS environments and supporting collaboration, productivity, communication, and security platforms.
- Good working knowledge of macOS environments and endpoint management practices.
- Strong troubleshooting ability with a structured approach to identifying root causes and building scalable fixes.
- Excellent written and spoken communication skills, especially in distributed or remote-team settings.
- Ability to manage several priorities at once while staying detail-oriented and organized.
- Relationship-driven approach with strong collaboration and stakeholder management skills.
- Self-directed, resourceful, and comfortable working independently in a remote-first setup.
