Role overview

Quantinuum is hiring a senior leader to direct execution across its Compute Platform Group. The position focuses on bringing engineering, technical, product, and business teams into alignment so complex quantum computing platforms are delivered to customers on schedule. The right person will combine strong technical understanding with outstanding leadership and program management capabilities, and will guide a global team of program managers.

Strategic leadership

• Continuously improve and apply a product management framework that supports the product development process and helps deliver quantum hardware, software, and integrated solutions predictably.
• Work with product and business stakeholders to interpret roadmaps and turn them into concrete programs and projects for you and your team to manage.
• Use strong business judgment to understand strategy and goals, then independently bring together the right teams to move quickly and act.
• Collaborate directly with external customers on delivery of strategic initiatives and projects.

Program execution

• Operate in a player-coach capacity by leading the program management function while also owning the technical and financial execution of major strategic efforts.
• Guide the PMO to remain accountable, hands-on, and deeply involved in executing the roadmap and customer-funded work.
• Oversee complex, cross-disciplinary programs covering quantum hardware, control systems, software stacks, error correction, and cloud or hybrid compute integrations.
• Create strong alignment across engineering, research, product management, and operations.
• Track dependencies, risks, and trade-offs in highly complex technical settings.
• Lead proposal work from early strategy definition through completion of both financial and technical proposal volumes.

Stakeholder management

• Act as the main point of contact between technical teams, business stakeholders, and senior leadership, ensuring clarity and accountability.
• Share program progress, risks, and mitigation plans with executive leaders and external partners.
• Partner with teams across finance, legal, supply chain, HR, and sales.

Team development

• Develop and coach a high-performance culture within the program management organization.
• Promote collaboration, innovation, and operational excellence.
• Shape a working style in which program managers actively support technical teams and play a key role in product delivery.

Minimum qualifications

You must have a bachelor’s degree, 15+ years of program management experience, at least 10 years leading large customer-funded efforts, and 5+ years of direct people management experience.

Because of contractual requirements, candidates must be a U.S. Person, meaning a U.S. citizen, permanent resident, green card holder, refugee, or asylee. Due to U.S. government national security requirements, applicants cannot be a People’s Republic of China national or a Russian national unless they are also a U.S. citizen.

Preferred qualifications

A bachelor’s degree in engineering, physics, or a related discipline is preferred, and an advanced degree is a plus. The role also values leadership presence, empathy paired with accountability, a strong bias toward action, clear communication habits, comfort with ambiguity, and the ability to learn quickly. Experience in quantum computing is preferred but not required.

Additional strengths include experience with government and commercial proposals, contract negotiations, costing and basis-of-estimate development, intellectual property protection strategies, project financial planning and forecasting, milestone and KPI creation, and working within cross-functional integrated product teams.

Compensation and benefits

The position is incentive eligible, and the posted pay range includes bonus target: $280,000 to $350,000 per year. Actual pay may vary based on skills, education, experience, and other qualifications.
