Role Overview

The team is looking for a Shop Assistant to help customers locate products, keep the store looking well stocked and attractive, and contribute to a friendly fresh-food environment. Prior experience is not essential, as training will be provided. The ideal person brings a positive attitude, pride in their work, and a genuine interest in fresh food. The company also notes that many of its Store Managers began in this same type of position.

Key Responsibilities

• Restock and rotate products so displays remain full, fresh, and appealing
• Keep the back-of-house area tidy, structured, and running smoothly
• Check product quality, dates, and rotation using FIFO practices
• Maintain effective shelf presentation so customers can shop easily
• Assist customers directly on the shop floor in a helpful manner
• Follow food handling, hygiene, and workplace safety requirements
• Work with the wider team to support efficient daily store operations

About You

The employer is seeking someone who enjoys food and ideally has experience in fresh food retail. You should also bring strong attention to detail, good organisational ability, and the physical capability to handle manual tasks and remain on your feet during shifts. A collaborative attitude, solid work ethic, and flexibility to work across a seven-day roster with morning and evening shifts are important.
