Role overview
Rising Academies is hiring a proactive and highly organized Procurement & Supply Chain Coordinator for its Rwanda team. The position plays a key role in making sure devices, headsets, cabinets, and related assets are procured, moved, stored, repaired, and tracked efficiently for the AI-powered Tablet Pilot and other programs. The post is based in Kigali and reports to the Head of Programs, Rwanda.
Key duties
- Source and procure tablets, headsets, cabinets, and supporting accessories according to program requirements.
- Oversee customs clearance, storage, and delivery of materials to schools.
- Create and maintain systems for repairs, replacements, headset hygiene, and disposal of unusable items.
- Share timely progress updates with suppliers, government stakeholders, and Rising’s leadership team.
- Monitor procurement schedules, warehouse inventory, repair response times, and equipment durability.
- Train warehouse teams and school staff on correct storage, charging, and distribution practices.
- Gather durability feedback and use it to improve future procurement planning.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of experience in procurement, supply chain, logistics, or a closely related function; experience in education is an advantage.
- Strong capability in inventory control, vendor management, and operational reporting.
- Working knowledge of Excel, Google Workspace, and supply chain management platforms.
- Excellent planning, organization, and communication abilities.
- Experience training or supporting non-technical audiences.
- Bachelor’s degree in Procurement, Logistics, Supply Chain, Business Administration, or a related discipline; a master’s degree is preferred.
- Comfort working across cultures and presenting operational information clearly.
- Strong interpersonal skills, professionalism, and the ability to work independently.
- Ability to adapt quickly, stay solution-focused, and perform well in fast-moving settings.
- Confidence using Microsoft tools, Google Suite, inventory systems, and Slack.
- Genuine interest in improving education quality across Africa.
Additional information
This is a full-time, onsite position in Kigali, Rwanda. The intended start date is August 2026. Candidates should be aligned with Rising’s child protection expectations and safeguarding standards.
