About the Company and Role
dnata stands as one of the world’s foremost air services providers, delivering ground handling, cargo, travel, and flight catering solutions across five continents. With over 60 years of industry presence, dnata offers comprehensive services to Airline clients including Passenger and Customer Services, Ramp Operations, and Cargo Handling at all major Australian airports.
We are looking for a skilled and proactive National Workforce Planner to join our Ground Services team. Reporting to the National Workforce Planning Manager, this full-time position carries a nationwide scope, playing a crucial part in operational planning and analysis within dnata Australia's Ground Handling division.
Primary Responsibilities
- Regularly update and adjust seasonal workforce plans based on flight schedules and stakeholder feedback, adhering to tight deadlines within a formal planning structure.
- Manage workforce reductions, including overseeing leave administration and collaborating closely with training departments.
- Optimize staff schedules and rosters to enhance operational efficiency and utilization while maintaining safety and reliability standards.
- Support stakeholders through scenario modeling and analysis to inform financial, commercial, and operational decisions.
- Monitor workforce availability and effectiveness across all service ports, diagnose staffing supply challenges, and suggest effective mitigation strategies.
- Identify and recommend enhancements to planning systems and processes to foster a culture prioritizing planning excellence.
Essential Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in aviation management, business, finance, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- At least two years of experience in operational resource planning, preferably within aviation, transportation, or a similar industry.
- Exceptional interpersonal communication skills with the capability to present complex operational and planning information clearly to diverse audiences.
- Proven ability to analyze planning or operational datasets and communicate findings effectively.
- Competent at thriving in high-pressure environments while managing multiple priorities and stakeholders.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Compliance with aviation security and safety requirements.
Desirable Skills
- Experience working with GroundStar and Plano scheduling and rostering software platforms.
- Familiarity with Power BI or other Business Intelligence tools for data analysis and reporting.
