Role overview
A manufacturing employer in the Chatham, Ontario area is hiring a Maintenance Planner for its plant. This is a day-shift, on-site position.
Compensation
The salary for this role can go up to CAD 100,000 per year.
What you will do
- Build and manage preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance schedules for production machinery and facility equipment.
- Prepare and update work orders, job plans, and equipment details in the CMMS platform.
- Align maintenance timing with production teams so operations are disrupted as little as possible.
- Confirm that the needed parts, tools, materials, and other resources are ready before work starts.
- Review equipment performance and maintenance records to spot ways to improve reliability.
- Help refine and refresh preventive maintenance programs.
- Monitor maintenance metrics such as downtime, work order completion, and equipment uptime/reliability.
- Collaborate with technicians, supervisors, and production staff to decide what maintenance should be handled first.
- Keep accurate records of maintenance work, equipment information, and inventory consumption.
- Contribute to continuous improvement efforts aimed at increasing equipment reliability and maintenance efficiency.
- Make sure all maintenance work follows safety rules and applicable regulatory standards.
- Support contractor coordination and maintenance project planning when needed.
Requirements
- At least 3 to 5 years of experience in maintenance planning or a similar position.
- Well-developed planning, organization, and time-management abilities.
- A technical diploma from a community college, or an equivalent mix of education and practical experience.
- Comfort using Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Hands-on experience with eMaint or a comparable CMMS/maintenance planning system.
- Knowledge of CAD tools such as SolidWorks or AutoCAD would be beneficial.
