The Logistics Supervisor will lead day-to-day logistics activity in a laboratory setting. The position covers courier coordination, specimen and sample transport, inventory control, and operational support to help ensure materials move safely, on time, and in compliance with required standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Direct daily courier operations, including route planning, scheduling, and performance oversight.
  • Make sure laboratory specimens, documents, and supplies are picked up and delivered on time.
  • Manage fleet utilization, service schedules, and vehicle compliance requirements such as licensing and inspections.
  • Improve delivery routes to raise efficiency and control transportation costs.
  • Track stock levels for lab supplies, reagents, and consumables.
  • Keep inventory data accurate through tracking tools, audits, and cycle counts.
  • Plan purchasing and replenishment to avoid stock gaps or excess inventory.
  • Coordinate the safe packaging and movement of laboratory materials in line with safety and regulatory rules.
  • Work with laboratory teams to prioritize urgent or time-sensitive shipments.
  • Resolve delays, delivery problems, and other operational issues as they arise.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, DOT, and laboratory safety requirements.
  • Train team members on the correct handling of biological and hazardous materials.
  • Maintain records and documentation needed for inspections and audits.
  • Hire, train, coach, and assess courier and logistics staff.
  • Create work schedules and manage staffing coverage.
  • Build a culture focused on accountability, safety, and ongoing improvement.
  • Monitor performance indicators such as delivery speed, error rates, and inventory accuracy.
  • Spot process bottlenecks and implement practical improvements.
  • Assist with rollout of logistics and inventory management systems.

Qualifications
