Learning and Development Specialist

Role overview

The Learning & Development Specialist will shape and run training initiatives that build employee capability, improve performance, and strengthen the organization’s overall talent base. This position focuses on uncovering learning gaps, creating effective development solutions, and encouraging ongoing professional growth across teams.

Key responsibilities

• Assess training needs across departments to pinpoint skill gaps and identify development priorities.
• Create and refine interactive learning content, workshops, and training assets for both digital and in-person delivery.
• Organize and facilitate learning sessions covering onboarding, interpersonal skills, leadership development, and role-specific training.
• Work closely with internal teams to ensure learning programs support business goals.
• Oversee relationships with outside trainers, consultants, and learning technology providers when needed.
• Track the impact of training through participant feedback, assessments, and performance data.
• Keep accurate training documentation, reports, and records within learning management systems.
• Contribute to career progression planning, succession planning, and broader talent development efforts.
• Help embed a workplace culture that values continuous learning and development.
• Stay informed about current learning and development practices, tools, and industry trends.

Qualifications and experience

• A bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology, or a closely related discipline is required.
• Applicants should have 3 to 5 years of experience in Learning & Development, training, or HR-related positions.
• Hands-on background in instructional design and training facilitation is important.
• Experience using Learning Management Systems and e-learning platforms is expected.
• Professional certification in learning and development, such as CIPD or ATD, will be considered an added advantage.
