Role overview
Cavan Crystal Hotel, a 4-star luxury property on Dublin Road in County Cavan, is looking for a Kitchen Porter to become part of its kitchen team. The hotel sits in the heart of the lake county and is well placed near a range of local tourist attractions. This role is central to keeping kitchen operations running smoothly so chefs and other team members can focus on food preparation and service.
The position requires someone who can work efficiently, uphold strong cleanliness standards, and cooperate closely with the wider kitchen team. The working pattern is 3 to 5 shifts each week.
Responsibilities
- Assist the Head Chef and support the kitchen porter team in day-to-day duties.
- Help assign tasks to team members and make sure work is completed to a high standard.
- Arrange sufficient supplies of stock and cleaning materials.
- Keep clean dishes, glassware, cutlery, pots, and other essentials available for all hotel outlets.
- Operate the dishwashing equipment to clean dishes, cutlery, and glassware.
- Help maintain HACCP standards throughout kitchen operations.
- Keep the kitchen department clean and orderly.
- Support the kitchen team with routine cleaning tasks in line with standard procedures.
- Follow all required safety, hygiene, and sanitation practices.
Requirements
- Experience in a kitchen or a similar environment is preferred.
- Previous team leadership experience would be an advantage.
- Prior exposure to HACCP procedures is required.
- Strong attention to detail is essential.
- Applicants must be flexible with working hours, including mornings, evenings, and weekends.
- A basic command of English is required.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
