IT Infrastructure Engineer

Role Overview

X-PHY Inc is looking for a practical, hands-on IT Infrastructure Engineer to take charge of the organization’s technology backbone. This role covers infrastructure support, networking, cybersecurity, cloud services, end-user systems, and AI-led improvements that help the business work faster and more efficiently.

You will help keep the IT environment stable, secure, and high-performing while also contributing to automation and modern technology adoption across teams.

Core Responsibilities

Infrastructure and Systems Administration

• Run, maintain, and fine-tune servers, storage, cloud environments, and network systems.
• Set up and support networking hardware and services such as firewalls, switches, routers, VPNs, and wireless access.
• Administer Windows and Linux systems, virtualization tools, and cloud-based platforms.
• Track system health, uptime, and capacity to support uninterrupted business operations.

Cybersecurity and Risk Controls

• Put cybersecurity standards, safeguards, and operating practices into action and keep them current.
• Watch for security events, system weaknesses, and threats, then respond appropriately.
• Carry out routine security checks, audits, and risk assessments.
• Assist with endpoint protection, identity and access control, and data security measures.

End-User Support and IT Operations

• Provide technical help for laptops, desktops, mobile devices, software, and other IT equipment.
• Manage user access, permissions, email accounts, and collaboration tools.
• Coordinate IT assets, purchasing, upkeep, and vendor assistance.
• Ensure incidents and service requests are handled promptly.

Backup, Recovery, and Continuity

• Oversee backup systems and disaster recovery processes.
• Perform regular backup checks and restoration testing.
• Support resilience planning and business continuity efforts.

AI and Digital Transformation

• Assess, deploy, and support AI-enabled tools that improve productivity and operational outcomes.
• Lead automation efforts using AI, scripting, workflow tools, and other emerging technologies.
• Help departments use AI solutions effectively in everyday work.
• Stay informed on developments in AI, cybersecurity, and infrastructure technologies.

Projects, Documentation, and Vendors

• Partner with internal teams, service providers, and vendors to deliver IT initiatives.
• Support infrastructure upgrades, system rollouts, migrations, and technology deployments.
• Maintain technical documentation, SOPs, and architecture records.

Requirements

Education

• A diploma or bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a closely related discipline.

Experience

• 3 to 5 years of experience in IT infrastructure, systems administration, network engineering, or a similar function.
• Practical experience working with servers, cloud environments, network systems, and cybersecurity tools.
• Background in supporting end-user devices and corporate IT environments.
• Exposure to virtualization, cloud services, backup solutions, and security technologies is an advantage.

Technical Capability

• Working knowledge of Windows Server and Linux administration.
• Ability to manage networking components including firewalls, VPNs, DNS, DHCP, switching, and routing.
• Experience with cloud platforms such as Google Cloud, Microsoft Azure, or AWS.
• Understanding of cybersecurity tools and industry best practices.
• Familiarity with AI tools, automation platforms, scripting, and workflow optimization.

AI Expectations

• Genuine interest in AI tools and practical use cases.
• Ability to use AI to streamline tasks, automate workflows, and improve IT operations.
• Prior use of AI-assisted tools for troubleshooting, documentation, administration, or automation is preferred.
• Willingness to keep learning and adopt new AI technologies.

Eligibility

This role is open to candidates who already have legal authorization to work in Singapore. The position is onsite in Singapore, and work pass sponsorship is not provided.
