Interior CAD Designer

Position Overview

The company is looking for an Interior Designer to contribute to the planning and delivery of commercial interior projects, with a strong focus on financial institution spaces. The role combines client consultation, spatial planning, and the creation of technical drawing packages.

The right candidate should be able to work with incomplete or shifting client direction and turn it into practical, compliant, and visually coordinated design solutions. Comfort in making informed design recommendations is essential, especially when project details are still being refined, while keeping the outcome functional, secure, and ready for construction.

Most projects will center on banking environments such as branch refreshes and interior upgrades, though there may also be occasional involvement in other commercial sectors.

Design Strategy and Client Advisory

• Shape the design direction for branch projects from the early concept stage through final delivery.
• Support financial institutions in defining the desired look, atmosphere, and customer experience.
• Work through incomplete or changing project scope and convert it into clear, workable design options.
• Make sure the interior direction reflects brand expectations while bringing spaces up to date.
• Walk stakeholders through concepts, finishes, and layout alternatives.

Interior Architectural Design

• Create branch layouts that improve circulation and support efficient daily operations.
• Plan teller lines, TCR locations, ATM integration, secure areas, and consultation spaces.
• Keep designs aligned with ADA requirements, security standards, and commercial construction rules.
• Find the right balance between visual appeal, buildability, and budget limits.

Technical Production

• Prepare 2D and 3D design materials, including plans, elevations, and renderings.
• Build detailed finish schedules and material specifications.
• Develop multiple layout options and visual presentation packages to support decisions.
• Compile drawing sets that are ready for construction use.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Work closely with project managers and sales leaders.
• Revise design work based on site realities and practical constraints.
• Assist with multi-location rollout programs when needed.
• Handle any additional duties assigned to the role.

Core Competencies

• Strong ability to plan space and improve layout efficiency.
• Confidence in designing proactively when the brief is incomplete.
• Working knowledge of financial institution layouts, including teller areas, TCR placement, ATM integration, and secure zones.
• Understanding of commercial interior construction standards.
• Careful attention to detail with a solid grasp of construction requirements.
• Comfort in client-facing discussions and advisory conversations.
• Ability to combine creative thinking with technical accuracy.
• Clear verbal and visual presentation skills.

Qualifications

• At least 5 years of experience in commercial or financial interior design.
• Strong working ability in AutoCAD and/or Revit.
• Experience creating drawing sets suitable for construction.
• Familiarity with ADA compliance and commercial building codes.
• A portfolio that shows banking, retail, or other commercial design work.
• Capability to manage projects independently.

This position is based in Alpharetta, GA and is structured as a full-time onsite role.
