Job overview
The GMP Technician will help keep assigned GMP areas clean, orderly, and compliant. This role requires the ability to work well with teammates and other staff, follow both verbal and written instructions, and explain task steps clearly using basic communication skills.
Responsibilities
- Follow all safety rules, site policies, and operating procedures.
- Intervene when unsafe behavior is observed, including your own actions and those of others.
- Work collaboratively with other team members.
- Carry out repetitive tasks as needed.
- Keep the work area clean and organized.
- Accept direction and work under supervision.
- Communicate professionally with leads, supervisors, co-workers, managers, and customers.
- Assist the shift lead with punch-list completion.
- Use the correct personal protective equipment at all times.
- Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor.
- Understand customer service expectations and the importance of satisfaction.
- Be familiar with reporting systems and the work environment.
- Perform recurring tasks in a GMP setting.
- Carry out sanitization work to support a controlled GMP environment.
- Consistently follow customer requirements and SBM SOPs and procedures.
- Respond to customer requests in a professional manner.
- Complete cross-training for the assigned shift and area, including walls, floors, windows, wipe-downs, maintenance issue reporting, and shutdown cleaning.
- Record daily FN logs accurately and in full.
- Be trained and certified in the correct gowning procedures for the assigned area.
- Finish all basic training modules and annual qualification training required by customer SOPs.
- Complete required safety certifications, including chemical safety.
- Step in as area coverage when staffing shortages occur.
- Support the shift lead with work orders and other identified items for the assigned area.
Qualifications
This role requires the ability to complete all essential duties safely and reliably. Responsibilities may change at any time, with or without notice.
Education and experience
A high school diploma or GED is preferred. Prior experience of 6 months to 1 year is also preferred.
Certifications and licenses
CPR/AED/First Aid certification is a plus. A valid driver’s license may be required. Completion of all safety and task-training certifications is required, and forklift certification may also be required.
Knowledge and abilities
- Ability to read and understand instructions, procedures, manuals, and similar documents.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Understanding of cleaning methods and equipment, with a willingness to share knowledge with the team.
- Knowledge of how to care for and maintain cleaning equipment.
- Understanding of cleaning compounds and chemicals, including safe and efficient use.
Physical demands and work environment
The role may require frequent sitting as well as speaking and listening. The employee must be able to lift and move up to 35 pounds. Reasonable accommodations may be provided to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
Schedule and compensation
This is a Monday through Friday position, with some weekends required. The shift runs from 12:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Pay is $16.50 to $17.50 per hour.
