About the Role
This position is responsible for leading and harmonizing facilities operations across all company locations worldwide. The role covers buildings, utilities, infrastructure, fleet, and compliance, while guiding regional Facilities Officers to make sure company standards are applied consistently in every country. It is centered on facility maintenance rather than machine or equipment maintenance, which sits with the Maintenance Manager.
The right candidate will bring substantial experience in industrial settings, especially sheet metal manufacturing, where efficient use of space, utility management, and regulatory compliance are especially important.
Core Responsibilities
- Manage the facilities function across factories, warehouses, and offices in all regions, ensuring every site aligns with company standards.
- Drive site expansions, upgrades, and relocations, and contribute to layout optimization initiatives.
- Lead global facility audits and make sure regional teams close out corrective actions on time.
- Maintain consistent standards for building safety, security, utilities, waste handling, and infrastructure across all locations.
- Supervise regional Facilities Officers across multiple countries and provide leadership and coaching.
- Create, roll out, and monitor global facilities SOPs, standards, and checklists to ensure uniform execution.
- Run regular training and capability-building sessions for regional teams.
- Ensure timely reporting, escalation of issues, and close coordination between regional teams and headquarters.
- Oversee facility-related maintenance in coordination with regional facilities and maintenance teams, including buildings, utilities, compressed air lines, drainage, firefighting systems, HVAC, water supply, lighting, and supporting infrastructure.
- Review preventive maintenance plans for facility assets and ensure they are carried out by regional teams.
- Manage the company’s vehicle fleet across countries, including motorbikes, vans, trucks, and service vehicles.
- Implement fleet policies covering use, safety, preventive maintenance, driver qualifications, and vehicle allocation.
- Ensure compliance with local rules for licensing, insurance, and inspections.
- Track fuel use, mileage, and vehicle utilization to improve efficiency and lower operating costs.
- Work with regional teams on vehicle procurement, disposal, and replacement timing based on asset life and cost-benefit considerations.
- Handle accident reporting with the health and safety officer, along with repairs, insurance claims, and analysis of recurring fleet incidents.
- Introduce and maintain GPS tracking systems where relevant to improve accountability and fleet visibility.
- Prepare and manage the global facilities budget, including utilities, building repairs, consumables, and capital projects.
- Monitor facilities spending across all regions and identify opportunities for cost savings.
- Review and approve facility upgrades and renovation activities.
- Support the planning and execution of CAPEX projects linked to buildings, utilities, factory expansion, and infrastructure improvements.
- Lead the selection and performance management of contractors for construction, repairs, cleaning, security, landscaping, pest control, waste disposal, and utility servicing.
- Ensure vendors meet requirements for safety, quality, and service levels.
- Drive continuous improvement in facilities operations, including energy efficiency, waste reduction, safety enhancement, and digital recordkeeping.
- Support new project and product launches by ensuring facilities are ready across all regions.
Experience and Qualifications
- A bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial Engineering, or Facilities Management is required.
- At least 7 years of experience in facilities management within a manufacturing environment, with sheet metal experience preferred.
- Experience handling multi-site or multi-country facilities operations is strongly preferred.
- Strong understanding of utilities, industrial infrastructure, and compliance obligations is needed.
- Demonstrated ability to lead technical teams and coordinate work across regions is essential.
Key Competencies
- Strong leadership and communication skills across diverse cultures.
- Action-oriented with a strong focus on results.
- Effective problem-solving and root-cause analysis capability.
- Able to juggle multiple projects in different countries at the same time.
- Strong vendor management and negotiation ability.
- Comfortable working in fast-moving industrial environments.
