Role overview
This position is based in a locally owned Shoppers Drug Mart store in St. Catharines, Ontario. The role focuses on keeping customer service at the center of daily store operations while supporting health, beauty, and convenience services for the community.
Summary
The Front Store Supervisor is responsible for overseeing customer service activities, including cash handling, cashier support, and merchandising operations.
Responsibilities
- Make sure cashier and merchandising team members follow store policies and operating standards.
- Train cashiers and merchandisers on their day-to-day duties.
- Provide ongoing coaching, direction, and support to front store staff.
- Maintain and enforce loss prevention practices, including cash office inventory control, cashier tracking, tracking sheets, and PC Optimum processes.
- Ensure employees maintain a professional appearance that aligns with the store’s uniform requirements.
- Handle customer questions about product locations, rainchecks, and related store information.
- Address customer concerns such as refunds and exchanges according to established procedures.
- Encourage participation in the CSI survey.
- Keep shelves neat, clean, and properly rotated.
- Set up and remove product displays as directed by the AFSM or FSM.
- Maintain store housekeeping standards and an attractive store image.
- Follow all health and safety rules.
- Perform clerical and banking tasks when required.
- Follow store policies, procedures, and loss prevention requirements at all times.
- Carry out other assigned duties, including cashier tasks when needed.
Qualifications and experience
- Strong judgment, planning, and decision-making ability.
- Ability to think independently and organize store activities effectively.
- Good problem-solving skills with a focus on customer satisfaction.
- Comfort using computers.
- Well organized with solid time-management skills.
- Working knowledge of products and store supplies.

Compensation
