Role overview
Thompson Thrift is looking for a Financial Analyst to support the continued expansion of its multifamily real estate business in Terre Haute, Indiana. In this role, you will turn financial data into actionable business insights that help leaders make informed decisions across development, construction, operations, forecasting, and planning.

Key responsibilities
As a Financial Analyst, you will partner with business leaders and cross-functional teams to assess performance, improve forecasting, and support budgeting and planning efforts. Your work will help identify opportunities, risks, and trends that influence strategic decisions across the organization.
- Review and interpret financial information to inform business and operational choices
- Create and update financial models for budgeting, forecasting, and planning
- Build reporting packages, KPI dashboards, and performance summaries
- Contribute to annual budgets and periodic forecast cycles
- Evaluate trends, variances, and key metrics to uncover business opportunities
- Assist with hold/sell analysis, change matrices, and related financial assessments
- Study market dynamics, economic indicators, and industry performance to support planning
- Track results against budgets and established performance targets
- Flag financial risks and suggest ways to improve efficiency
- Support executive-level ad hoc analysis and special projects
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related discipline is preferred
- At least 2 years of experience in financial analysis
- Background in real estate, multifamily, commercial real estate, or development is preferred
- Advanced Excel skills and strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including PowerPoint
- Proven capability in financial modeling, budgeting, forecasting, and data analysis
- Clear written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage several priorities at once with strong attention to detail
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Comfort working independently while collaborating across departments
- Interest in continuous improvement and data-informed decision-making
