Role overview
The Education Services Specialist supports makerspace and STEM educators, with a focus on PreK through 8th grade. The role combines professional development, curriculum creation, and makerspace solution design to help teachers deliver meaningful hands-on learning experiences. It is a full-time position with a collaborative team, reporting to the EVP of Educational Services.
Work setup and schedule
This position is described as being based at the IoT Lab in Fishers, Indiana, with HQ/remote flexibility. The role is approximately 40 hours per week and offers flexible hours.
Compensation and benefits

Responsibilities
- Create educator resources that explain how to plan for, use, and teach with makerspaces, STEM labs, curriculum, and training programs.
- Lead both in-person and online professional development sessions and workshops for clients in makerspace and STEM education.
- Support the sales process by helping shape client-specific makerspace solutions.
- Organize and coordinate professional development delivery for clients.
- Gather insights from client conversations and use them to improve future offerings.
- Match makerspace recommendations with district priorities, learning goals, and available funding options.
- Support clients with grant-writing-related opportunities.
- Build strong working relationships with administrators, teachers, and school leaders to help ensure successful implementation.
Requirements
- A background in instructional design is required.
- Experience creating curriculum and learning resources is needed.
- Comfort with, or a willingness to learn, makerspace technologies such as 3D printers, laser cutters, and 2D/3D design tools is expected.
- Strong speaking and writing skills are necessary.
- The candidate should be highly organized, attentive to detail, and capable of managing several content projects and deadlines at once.
- The role requires someone who works well independently and can stay focused on goals and deliverables without close supervision.
- A strong interest in project-based learning and making education engaging and practical for all learners is important.
- A Bachelor’s degree in Education is required.
- At least 5 years of teaching experience in K-12 settings is required.
- Willingness to travel across the Midwest is required.
