Role overview
This opportunity is for a Data Analyst focused on payroll and benefits support for a growing organization in the Greenwood Village, CO area. The position is contract-to-hire and is expected to run for about 5 to 6 months initially, with a strong possibility of becoming permanent as the company continues to expand.
The role is best suited to someone who enjoys working with data, can draw insights from HR information, and is comfortable operating independently in a fast-paced environment. You will report to the Payroll & Benefits Manager and help improve reporting, data quality, and decision-making across payroll and benefits operations.
Location and schedule
Work will be onsite in Greenwood Village, CO (DTC). The schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Onsite parking is available.
Compensation and engagement type
This is a contract-to-hire position with an hourly pay rate of $37.00 to $40.00. The assignment is expected to last approximately 5 to 6 months before potential conversion to a permanent role.
Key responsibilities
- Build, update, and review payroll and benefits reports using HRIS platforms, Excel, and Power BI.
- Examine HR and payroll data to uncover patterns, summarize findings, and share practical recommendations with leadership.
- Check records for accuracy and correct mismatches across payroll, benefits, and HR systems.
- Support the creation of dashboards, reporting upgrades, and process refinements.
- Protect sensitive employee data and handle confidential information appropriately.
- Assist payroll and benefits teams with reporting needs, compliance-related audits, and ongoing data projects.
- Investigate reporting problems and work through solutions on your own when needed.
Required background
- High school diploma or GED is required; a bachelor’s degree is preferred.
- At least 1 to 2+ years of experience in HR, payroll, benefits, reporting, or data analysis support.
- Strong Excel capability, including pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, formulas, data manipulation, and combining data for reports.
- Hands-on experience with Power BI or a similar reporting and visualization tool.
- Familiarity with HRIS systems such as Workday, UKG, ADP, or comparable platforms.
- Strong accuracy, attention to detail, and commitment to data integrity.
- Good communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage confidential information with discretion.
