Courier Driver

Role overview

Dorset County Hospital is looking for a dependable, proactive, and motivated Courier Driver to join its Transport team in Dorchester.

Main purpose of the job

The postholder will support an efficient courier operation across Dorset, linking the Trust with other healthcare organisations and ensuring time-sensitive items are moved safely and promptly.

What the role involves

• Operating a courier service between the Trust and other health establishments throughout Dorset.
• Transporting and collecting mail, specimens, vaccines, medical records, and from time to time medical gases.
• Sorting, delivering, and collecting mail, sundry items, and specimens between healthcare sites in Dorset and acute Trusts including Salisbury, Royal Bournemouth, Poole, and Southampton.

Working pattern

The working hours are Monday to Friday, 9:00 am to 3:00 pm.

The successful candidate will work independently without day-to-day supervision and must help maintain a service that is consistently efficient, professional, and well regarded. The Trust also expects staff to reflect its values of Integrity, Respect, Teamwork, and Excellence.
