About the Company

About the Role

This contract role is best suited to someone who enjoys structured, process-based administrative work. You will help run a recurring monthly vendor and user access review process under the guidance of the security and compliance owner. The position is not a technical security role; success depends more on organization, follow-through, and comfort working independently with business software tools.

The work follows a predictable monthly cycle with clearly defined responsibilities across Weeks 1 through 4, making it easy to plan around other commitments. The engagement is ongoing and does not have a fixed end date. Core availability during daytime business hours is required, Monday through Friday.

Key Responsibilities

Monitor each month’s vendor review workflow, confirm the process has started, and nudge owners on any overdue or incomplete steps.
Check vendor entries in Vanta to make sure key details are filled in, including business purpose, data classification, security certifications, and contract status.
Run user access review coordination by collecting reviewer feedback, confirming assignments and deadlines, and escalating any blockers.
Record access review outcomes in Vanta and open Jira follow-up tickets for fixes such as removing departed users or updating incorrect role assignments.
Keep open risk items current with status updates, ownership, and expected resolution dates.
Gather and file evidence showing completion of vendor and access review tasks.
Prepare a monthly closeout summary that outlines completed work, unresolved items, identified risks, and any escalation recommendations.
Bring issues to the security/compliance owner when internal approval or leadership involvement is needed.

What You Bring

A highly organized, process-oriented approach with a habit of tracking follow-ups and closing open loops.
Ability to manage a recurring workflow on your own with limited supervision.
Strong communication skills, especially for following up, escalating appropriately, and getting responses from busy stakeholders.
Comfort using SaaS tools and learning new systems quickly; familiarity with Vanta, Jira, or similar platforms is helpful but not required.
Reliable availability during normal business hours on weekdays.
Experience in administration, operations, or compliance support is preferred, even if you have not worked in security before.
Ability to produce clear, concise written updates and documentation.
Experience with Slack, Jira, or audit/GRC software is an advantage.
No security certification or deep technical security background is necessary.

Compensation

This is a paid hourly contract role. The company states that compensation is a competitive hourly contract rate for remote work in the United States.
