Job Summary
In this role, you will support the National Anti-Violence & Sexual Harassment Helpline (NAVH) by handling calls related to violence. Your work will focus on assessing each case, gathering relevant details, and ensuring the matter is directed to the right agency or support pathway in a timely way.
Key Duties
- Speak with callers to understand how serious the situation is.
- Collect and confirm information from relevant sources such as schools, relatives, family members, and government databases.
- Carry out risk and safety evaluations for each case.
- Decide on the appropriate response timing and case routing.
- Coordinate with agencies to hand over cases smoothly.
- Work with important family members so they can engage with the relevant agency.
Qualifications and Skills
You should hold a bachelor’s degree in social work, social sciences, psychology, or another closely related field.
Experience and Other Details
- Background in social work, especially in a violence specialist centre or child protection setting, will be considered an advantage.
- Recent graduates are encouraged to apply.
- You must be open to shift-based work, since the helpline operates 24/7.
- Shift allowance is provided.
