Role overview
Xe is hiring a Business Development Executive for its Corporate division in Auckland. This role suits an ambitious sales professional who wants to start or grow a career in financial services by helping New Zealand businesses handle foreign exchange and cross-border payments.
Reporting to the NZ Sales Director, you will focus on uncovering new corporate opportunities, building a strong flow of qualified prospects, and supporting new business growth. You will also receive training, coaching, and a clear path for career progression within the business development function.
What you will do
- Source fresh business leads through outbound calls, email, LinkedIn outreach, events, and referrals.
- Develop and maintain a robust pipeline of qualified corporate opportunities, ensuring next steps and forecasts are tracked in the CRM.
- Lead discovery calls to learn about a client’s FX exposure, payment activity, and risk management requirements.
- Work closely with Corporate Dealers, Credit, and Compliance teams to shape suitable solutions and guide prospects from first trade to an ongoing relationship.
- Deliver monthly goals related to applications, first trades, and new business revenue.
- Represent the company at relevant industry events, webinars, and partner engagements when needed.
- Support sales projects and initiatives as assigned by the business.
- Continuously strengthen your sales capability and progress along the business development career path.

What you should bring
- At least 2 years of experience in outbound sales, business development, or another customer-facing position.
- An interest in global markets, interest rates, and their effect on foreign exchange.
- The ability to use technology to expand lead-generation efforts and identify buyer intent through the funnel.
- A proactive, persistent, opportunity-driven approach to sales.
- Clear communication skills, including active listening, adaptability, and the ability to explain value effectively.
- Self-driven attitude with a desire to grow within sales.
- Good organisation and time-management skills.
- A collaborative mindset and positive team approach.
- Comfort speaking with business owners, CFOs, and senior finance leaders during prospecting and discovery conversations.
- Experience working with CRM systems and sales engagement tools for activity tracking, pipeline management, and reporting.
- Resilience and comfort in a high-activity, target-oriented environment.
