Backend QA Engineer - AI Trainer

Overview

This role is for an experienced Backend QA Engineer who will support AI training initiatives by contributing high-quality coding work. As part of a large community of technical professionals, you will help improve AI systems through practical programming tasks, code evaluation, and problem solving.

The work combines flexibility with technical challenge. You may be asked to create and solve coding exercises, build functional applications, and analyze data with a focus on clear reasoning and strong implementation quality. Your input will help refine models that continue to learn and improve over time.

After creating an account, candidates complete a short assessment that acts as the screening step. Once approved, paid tasks are made available through the platform.

Responsibilities

• Create and solve varied programming challenges used to train AI systems, with particular attention to Android-related work.
• Produce well-structured code examples along with concise, easy-to-follow explanations.
• Review AI-generated output for correctness, speed, and readability.
• Share detailed feedback that helps improve future model behavior.

Qualifications

• Strong command of English at a native or bilingual level.
• Preferred hands-on experience with Kotlin.
• Ability to work with at least one of the following languages or frameworks: JavaScript, TypeScript, Python, C, C#, C++, React, Go, Java, or Swift.
• Solid writing ability, including proper grammar and clear communication.
• Bachelor’s degree completed or currently in progress.
• Prior experience as a Software Developer, Coder, Software Engineer, or Programmer is an advantage.

Contract Details and Additional Information

This is an independent contractor arrangement rather than a traditional employee role. Work is available only to candidates located in the US, Canada, the UK, Ireland, Australia, and New Zealand. Applicants outside these countries will not currently see assessments or tasks on the platform.

Payment is issued through PayPal, and the platform does not request any money from applicants. Any currency conversion from USD is handled by PayPal.

Working Style and Pay

You can select the projects you want and decide when to work. The role is intended to fit around your own schedule, and you may use your personal computer from wherever you prefer to work.

Hourly project pay starts at $50 and can go above $100 per hour, with some assignments paying at higher rates.
