Role Overview

This role sits in a fast-moving startup environment, so daily priorities can shift and you may be asked to support other business needs when required. The core of the job is supervising warehouse operations, coordinating the sorting team, and keeping parcel flow accurate, safe, and efficient.

Team Leadership & Supervision

• Lead daily team briefings for sorters to share instructions, operational updates, and safety reminders.
• Coach and guide sorters so they follow standard operating procedures and best practices.
• Track team output and step in with feedback or support whenever needed.

Parcel Handling & Movement

• Oversee incoming shipments, including unloading and cross-checking parcels against shipping records.
• Supervise parcel scanning in internal systems such as Teleportal and Shipsy to maintain correct tracking.
• Direct parcels into the correct postal cages according to delivery routes.
• Manage the failed-parcel counter, look into issues, and record any mismatches or exceptions.
• Support preparation of outbound and export shipments while following applicable shipping rules and compliance requirements.

Quality, Inventory & Storage Control

• Inspect parcels for damage or irregularities and arrange repacking when necessary.
• Keep the storage and handling area organized and efficient.
• Assist with parcel counts and inventory records when needed.

Operational Efficiency

• Work with the team to hit daily targets and operational deadlines.
• Spot process gaps or inefficiencies and escalate them appropriately.
• Make sure parcels are handed over to drivers smoothly and without delay.

Safety & Housekeeping

• Enforce workplace safety rules throughout the hub.
• Oversee routine cleaning activities and maintain hygiene standards.
• Keep an eye on congestion points outside the warehouse to avoid bottlenecks.

Requirements

• No previous work experience is needed, and fresh candidates are encouraged to apply.
• Minimum academic qualification: GCSE/O Levels or an equivalent credential.
• A university degree is not required.
• Strong spoken and written English communication skills are necessary.
• You should be open to learning, adapting quickly, and taking on new responsibilities.
• Applicants must be 18 years old or above.
