Technology Scouting and Partnerships Executive

About the role

The Internal Security Department (ISD) works to protect Singapore from threats that can undermine internal security and national stability. For more than 75 years, ISD and the organisations that came before it have helped safeguard the country against risks from foreign subversive actors, spies, racial and religious extremists, and terrorists. This role offers the chance to contribute to that mission of keeping Singapore safe, secure, and sovereign for all Singaporeans.

What you will do

As a Technology Scouting and Partnerships Executive, you will support a team focused on bringing in innovative ideas, products, and capabilities for internal adoption and active use.

• Identify promising technology start-ups and explore solutions that may be suitable for adoption.
• Work with industry partners and internal stakeholders to define objectives and shape engagement plans.
• Coordinate and manage research partnerships and field trials with overseas and local tertiary institutions, consultants, vendors, and other partners for projects in the relevant fields of interest.
• Track developments in industry and technology to build suitable engagement approaches and spot potential partners.

Fields of interest

Applicants are preferred to have knowledge or proficiency in at least one of the following areas:

• Physical or protective security
• Audio, video, and multimedia analytics
• Artificial intelligence and machine learning
• Internet platforms and services
• IoT and wearables
• Cybersecurity, advanced persistent threats, and malware
• Emerging technologies such as generative AI, quantum technologies, and distributed ledger technologies

What we are looking for

• Strong written and spoken English communication skills.
• Willingness to travel overseas when required.
• Sound judgement in assessing problems and choosing practical solutions.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced setting.
• Project management experience and/or knowledge of additional languages will be an advantage.
