The role focuses on maintaining operational efficiency through shipment coordination, inventory tracking, and accurate recordkeeping.
Core duties
Daily work includes arranging inbound and outbound shipments, monitoring delivery progress, organizing transport schedules, and staying in touch with suppliers, carriers, warehouses, and internal teams to keep operations timely and economical. The coordinator also follows up on shipment status, helps solve logistics-related issues, and supports the steady flow of materials and products.
In addition, the position maintains inventory records, watches stock levels, assists with stock reconciliation, and ensures shipping, receiving, and warehouse documentation is complete and correct. It also involves preparing logistics reports, reviewing supply chain performance, and spotting ways to improve efficiency and control costs.
Cross-functional coordination
This role works closely with procurement, operations, warehouse, customer service, and finance teams to align supply chain tasks across departments. It also contributes to process improvement work, standard operating procedures, and compliance with transportation rules, safety standards, and company policies.
Performance expectations
Ongoing monitoring of supply chain performance, delivery measures, inventory accuracy, and operational risks is part of the job to support informed decisions and strengthen overall supply chain results.
Qualifications
Applicants should have a solid grasp of supply chain management, logistics operations, inventory control, transport coordination, warehouse workflows, and procurement basics. Experience with spreadsheets, ERP platforms, inventory systems, logistics tools, and reporting software is important, while familiarity with supply chain analytics and business intelligence tools is a plus.
Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving ability are needed to track inventory, assess logistics performance, identify operational gaps, and suggest better processes. The role also calls for knowledge of shipping documents, order fulfillment, demand planning, freight coordination, regulatory compliance, and supply chain best practices.
Good organization, communication, and coordination skills are essential, along with the ability to manage several priorities, work with both internal and external stakeholders, and keep accurate operational records. Attention to detail, time management, adaptability, and the ability to thrive in a fast-moving, deadline-driven environment are also important.
