About Expeditors
Expeditors describes its work as an information-driven logistics business rather than a traditional shipping company. The organization focuses on global supply chain management and emphasizes professionalism, leadership, a supportive workplace, and a customer-service-led approach. It operates with a worldwide team of 15,000 trained professionals across more than 250 locations and is part of the Fortune 500, supported by globally unified systems.
Role Overview
This position is focused on delivering a top-tier order management experience by coordinating closely with the order management manager, operations, and account management teams. The role requires a strong understanding of customer businesses, expectations, and needs in order to keep day-to-day operations running smoothly, support retention efforts, and strengthen customer relationships.
Key Responsibilities
The role spans operations, finance, sales support, and systems coordination. You will be expected to handle customer issues proactively, support billing and reporting tasks, contribute to retention strategies, and help improve internal processes and tools.
Operations
- Deliver a strong customer experience by resolving issues early and providing practical, solution-oriented support.
- Handle exceptions using customer and business KPIs, along with available dashboards and performance reports.
- Manage a busy inbox while anticipating customer needs and priorities.
- Study customer data, spot patterns, and use that analysis to help improve supply chain performance.
- Track customer expectations closely and ensure they are carried out consistently on a daily basis.
- Support the creation and upkeep of customer SOPs so they remain aligned with customer requirements.
- Encourage customers to use Expeditors’ tools, systems, and dashboards, and provide technical help when needed.
Finance
- Ensure customer and vendor billing is completed accurately and on time.
- Help keep departmental deadlines on track.
- Review finance reports and follow up where needed.
- Address intercompany accounting differences and discrepancies.
Sales Support
- Work with the manager on retention planning and value-added strategies for customers.
- Use existing reporting tools and solution offerings while also helping develop new ideas and improvements.
- Build relationships across customer organizations, not just with the primary contact.
- Join account management visits when possible.
- Support timely responses to requests for proposals, quotations, and information.
- Assist with onboarding new business and making updates to existing business accounts.
Systems
- Adapt to system updates and enhancements as they are introduced in the branch.
- Contribute ideas for better processes and system improvements.
- Enter data into the company’s proprietary operating system.
- Monitor shipment reports to help maintain high customer satisfaction.
Qualifications
Candidates should have six months to one year of relevant experience or training, or an equivalent mix of education and experience. Knowledge of operations or the logistics industry is preferred. The role also calls for strong project management ability, analytical thinking, problem-solving skills, excellent written and verbal communication, strong organization and time management, and a professional demeanor. Advanced Microsoft Excel and PowerBI skills are preferred, or the ability to develop them quickly.
Additional Information
Expeditors provides a comprehensive benefits package that includes paid vacation, holidays, and sick leave; medical, prescription drug, dental, and vision coverage; life and long-term disability insurance; a 401(k) retirement savings plan for the US; an employee stock purchase plan; and training and personnel development opportunities.
Employment Note
This role is an entry-level opportunity with potential for future career growth. All information will be handled confidentially in line with EEO guidelines. Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
