Stat Programmer 2

Job overview

This role calls for advanced technical expertise to build, support, and improve programs that serve both internal teams and external clients. You will help shape project solutions across the full range of statistical programming work and contribute technical strength to the statistical programming function.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, create, test, and document programs used to generate statistical tables, figures, and listing summaries.
• Develop analysis databases, including derived datasets, and manage data transfers for internal and external stakeholders.
• As needed, design and plan quality control checks for databases.
• Integrate databases coming from multiple studies or other data sources.
• Prepare programming documentation such as plans and specifications where required.
• Work with internal and external clients to provide advanced technical input and independently contribute practical project solutions to teams and the wider department.
• Plan and carry out the development, rollout, and validation of new process technologies, macros, and applications.
• Take on statistical team lead responsibilities for a single study while working under supervision.
• Review the scope of work, estimate completed effort, and manage out-of-scope tasks for single studies.
• Where applicable, help with budget and resource planning and support revenue and resource forecasts, while understanding budget and quote assumptions.
• Support the growth of the team by training and guiding junior and newly hired staff.

Required qualifications

• A master’s degree in computer science or a related discipline with 5 years of relevant experience, or
• A bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related discipline with 5 years of relevant experience, or
• An equivalent mix of education, training, and professional experience.
• Working knowledge of statistics, programming, and/or the clinical drug development process.
• Practical experience with Base SAS, SAS/STAT, and SAS Macro Language.
• Strong organizational, interpersonal, leadership, and communication abilities.
• Capability to manage multiple tasks and projects effectively.
• High level of accuracy and strong attention to detail.
• Ability to build and maintain productive working relationships with coworkers, managers, and clients.
