Site Engineer

The Role

A respected civil contractor is expanding its team and is looking for a Site Engineer to help deliver a diverse portfolio of demanding infrastructure projects across New Zealand. The work includes electrical substations, deep drainage, solar farms, and complex concrete structures.

In this position, you will coordinate projects across several active sites, manage competing priorities, and work closely with clients and other stakeholders to ensure important milestones are achieved on schedule. The role is well suited to someone with strong technical ability, good organisation, and the ambition to advance their engineering career.

Project Involvement

• Oversee coordination and day-to-day management across multiple live sites
• Collaborate with clients and stakeholders to keep deliverables moving and milestones on time
• Use practical knowledge of construction techniques, health and safety rules, and quality requirements
• Support delivery of earthworks, drainage, precast concrete, and cast-in-place concrete works
• Help build a positive site environment by setting a strong example
• Travel to project locations across the North Island when needed

What You Need to Bring

• A qualification in Civil Engineering or a closely related discipline
• At least 3 years of New Zealand experience working as a Site Engineer on civil infrastructure projects
• Hands-on familiarity with earthworks, drainage, precast, and in-situ concrete
• Clear understanding of construction methods, safety compliance, and quality control standards
• Strong communication skills, the ability to lead by example, and solid organisation
• Self-driven approach with the confidence to work independently and solve problems under pressure
• Must be a New Zealand citizen or hold a resident visa
