About the role

As a Shift Leader with Panda Restaurant Group in Opelika, Alabama, you will help bring the company’s mission to life inside the restaurant. What you will do

Qualifications and experience

Applicants should have some high school education and preferably some experience in operations. Food safety requirements may include local or municipal food handler certification, which would need to be obtained at the applicant’s own expense.

Work environment and physical requirements

The role is performed in a busy restaurant setting where counter areas may be hot due to steam and food vapors. Space behind the counter is limited, employees are expected to remain standing for long periods, and the work can involve preparing both hot and cold foods, using a Chinese cook knife and other kitchen equipment, and moving quickly while maintaining accuracy.

Employees must be able to lift up to 50 lbs., stand for up to four hours, and reach across 36-inch counter tops to serve customers. Kitchens are typically hot, noisy, and tight on storage, with high shelving. Success in the position also requires strong verbal communication, flexibility in a changing environment, and the ability to handle conflicts and difficult situations professionally.
