Senior Solutions Architect

Role overview

NTT DATA is looking for a Senior Solutions Architect in Qatar to shape and deliver impactful technology solutions for strategic clients. In this position, you will work directly with senior IT leaders to turn business objectives into practical, scalable architecture across cloud, data center, security, and enterprise platforms.

The role sits at the intersection of customer engagement, solution design, and presales. You will collaborate with sales, delivery, and global subject matter experts to develop architecture that balances technical fit, cost effectiveness, performance, and long-term sustainability.

This is a senior individual contributor role with leadership influence, but not a full people-management position. It also offers the opportunity to mentor junior architects and engineers when needed.

Key responsibilities

You will lead architecture design activities for multi-domain, hybrid, and multi-vendor environments. That includes facilitating workshops, defining future-state architecture, assessing technology choices, and guiding solution direction throughout the engagement lifecycle.

Presales support will be a core part of your work. You will respond to RFPs and RFIs, present architecture concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences, and help create strong value propositions for clients.

You will prepare and contribute detailed solution documents such as high-level designs, low-level designs, diagrams, bills of materials, and scopes of work that clearly define the proposed solution and delivery approach.

Architecture governance and assurance will also be part of the job. You will help ensure that solutions align with industry best practices, internal standards, security requirements, and operational expectations, while also supporting design reviews and reusable architecture frameworks for the Qatar region.

In addition, you will stay current with developments in cloud, data center, virtualization, automation, networking, AI/ML enablers, and security, and use that knowledge to influence go-to-market offerings and client solutions.

Cross-functional collaboration is essential. You will work closely with cybersecurity, network, applications, and delivery teams while providing technical guidance and mentorship to less experienced colleagues.

Required experience and technical background

We are seeking someone with 10 to 18 years of experience in solution architecture, cloud or infrastructure design, or enterprise architecture.

You should have practical experience designing solutions across data center and virtualization platforms such as VMware, Hyper-V, and Nutanix, as well as cloud environments including Azure, AWS, GCP, and hybrid models.

A strong foundation in networking, security, backup and disaster recovery, monitoring, and automation is important. Experience working within multi-vendor ecosystems involving platforms such as Microsoft, VMware, Cisco, and Dell is also expected.

Presales and consulting capabilities

You should be comfortable leading workshops, supporting proofs of concept, presenting to clients, and contributing to RFP responses. The role requires the ability to explain technical strengths and business value in a clear, persuasive manner.

Strong communication, negotiation, and influencing skills are necessary, along with the ability to manage stakeholders effectively, especially senior decision-makers in IT.

You will need to perform well in busy environments with multiple concurrent projects and shifting priorities.

Qualifications

A bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related discipline is required.

Professional certifications are strongly preferred, especially Azure Solutions Architect Expert, VMware VCP/VCAP, CCNP/CCDP, TOGAF, or similar credentials.
