Role overview
St Mary's Partnership is looking for a dependable, professional and upbeat Minibus and Electric Vehicle Driver to help with transport needs across its Southampton schools and sites, with the main base at St Mary's CE Primary School.
The role is key to making sure pupils and staff are moved safely and efficiently for day-to-day school transport, extracurricular commitments and wider operational activity.
This is a flexible position, with working hours changing in line with partnership needs. In some cases, there may be a chance to agree regular scheduled hours where transport needs are ongoing.
The role may also involve working across multiple schools and locations within the partnership to meet operational requirements.
What the school is looking for
- A full UK driving licence with no endorsements, with MIDAS qualification considered an advantage.
- If the applicant does not already hold MIDAS, the school will organise and pay for the required training before the role starts.
- Strong dependability, good timekeeping and clear communication.
- Confidence working on your own and making sensible decisions.
- A positive, adaptable attitude toward changing hours and operational demands.
- Previous experience driving minibuses, coaches or passenger-carrying vehicles would be helpful, though it is not essential.
- Readiness to complete any relevant training needed for the post.
- A clear commitment to safeguarding and supporting the wellbeing of children and young people.
