Role overview
This is a hands-on purchasing leadership role focused on keeping procurement, inventory flow, and import processes running effectively. The position combines strategic sourcing, supplier management, demand planning, and customs/compliance oversight, with close coordination across multiple business functions.
Key responsibilities
- Manage supplier relationships across the full lifecycle, including negotiation of pricing, rebates, and contract terms.
- Identify and approve alternate supply sources to help reduce procurement and supply chain risk.
- Take ownership of the purchase order process for both air-freight and sea-freight shipments, maintaining accurate trackers and resolving issues early.
- Improve demand forecasts by reviewing sales patterns and market trends, while balancing product freshness, shelf life, and service levels.
- Oversee import paperwork, customs clearance activity, and adherence to Singapore food safety requirements.
- Lead, coach, and support the purchasing team, while defining KPIs and encouraging continuous improvement.
- Act as a key contact for important customers and suppliers.
- Work closely with Sales, Logistics, Finance, and QA to keep operations aligned.
