Role overview

NPS is hiring a licensed plumber to join its Metering & Connections team in Willawong, Queensland. This position is a good fit for someone who wants to step away from standard maintenance or construction plumbing and move into a role that offers independence, varied work and the chance to build a long-term career.

Key responsibilities

The role focuses on work at domestic properties, with an emphasis on installing, changing and troubleshooting large water meters. You will be expected to complete work safely, efficiently and to a consistently high quality.

• Install and replace water meters
• Carry out meter inspections and investigate faults
• Perform customer meter testing
• Install and replace data loggers
• Identify leaks and metering-related issues
• Prepare digital job reports and compliance records
• Deliver strong customer service on every assignment
• Follow safe work practices while maintaining quality standards

The work offers a mix of planned maintenance, investigations and customer-facing tasks across different locations, so every day is different. You will work independently in the field while remaining supported by an experienced operations team that values teamwork, customer care and continuous improvement.

What we are looking for

You should be a qualified plumber who is comfortable working on your own, solving problems and delivering excellent outcomes for customers.

• Current Queensland plumbing registration or licence
• Experience in plumbing maintenance, water infrastructure, utilities or metering is preferred
• Current White Card
• Valid driver licence
• Strong troubleshooting and fault-finding ability
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
• Proactive mindset and strong work ethic
• Clear commitment to safe work every day

First Aid and CPR, a Working With Children Check and a Police Check are viewed favourably, or you should be willing to obtain them.
