Lead Specialist, Technical Solutions II

Role overview

This role is responsible for capturing requirements for strategic initiatives, evaluating the current and future state, and shaping work packages that demonstrate value across the quarter. It also involves defining solution plans with Platform and Solution Architects and supporting business-unit deliveries through on-site deployment and management.

Key responsibilities

The position focuses on end-to-end solution delivery, technical guidance to teams, and support for domain and TechOps initiatives.

• Interpret business problems and examine site-based evidence to identify the most suitable solution path.
• Convert business-unit priorities into practical solution requirements for the relevant technology domains.
• Address technical and integration issues that could affect delivery outcomes.
• Make sure solution designs are robust, scalable, integrated, and compliant with enterprise standards.
• Support delivery teams made up of data scientists, engineers, and digital specialists so the approved design is implemented correctly.
• Offer technical guidance, clarify design intent, and review quality throughout implementation.
• Confirm that delivery meets the agreed functional, performance, and quality standards.
• Partner with Domain Integrators and Business Partners to define initiative scope, success metrics, and value assumptions.
• Keep initiatives aligned with the agreed KPIs, value targets, and business priorities.
• Identify and communicate technical trade-offs, risks, and dependencies early in the process.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate should hold a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Mining or Minerals Engineering. Related fields such as Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering are also acceptable, as are Computer Science and/or Data Science degrees. A background of 5 to 10 years in technical, analytics, or technology delivery roles is required, along with proven experience in owning solution design and guiding implementation teams. The role also calls for a strong ability to convert business requirements into technical solutions and comfort working in ambiguous, fast-changing settings.
