About the Role
This opportunity is with Mercor, a company that brings top-tier creative and technical professionals together with leading AI research organizations. The business is based in San Francisco and is backed by investors such as Benchmark, General Catalyst, Peter Thiel, Adam D'Angelo, Larry Summers, and Jack Dorsey.
You will work as a Frontend Engineer focused on coding-agent workflows, helping assess and improve frontend engineering work generated with the support of frontier AI tools.
What You’ll Do
- Leverage advanced AI coding agents to complete and assess challenging engineering assignments.
- Inspect frontend code produced by models for correctness, code quality, maintainability, accessibility, and performance.
- Spot defects, edge cases, and likely failure points in AI-generated outputs.
- Compare results from multiple leading models and evaluate where each performs well or poorly.
- Use practical engineering judgment to solve realistic frontend scenarios.
What We’re Looking For
- At least 2 years of professional experience in frontend engineering.
- Hands-on experience building modern web applications with React, TypeScript, JavaScript, or comparable technologies.
- Frequent use of AI coding assistants such as Cursor, Claude Code, Codex, Windsurf, Gemini CLI, or similar tools.
- Ability to judge model-created frontend solutions, user interface structure, and performance improvements.
- Prior experience on large-scale consumer or enterprise products is preferred.
Compensation and Terms
The role is offered on a contract basis and pays $85 per hour. In addition, compensation is linked to accepted work, with $400 paid for each accepted task.
