Role overview
As the first face patients, visitors, and vendors meet at the hospital, this position keeps the front desk running smoothly and professionally. The role centers on welcoming people, answering queries, arranging appointments, and supporting a seamless reception experience. Core duties
- Receive patients and visitors in a polite and helpful manner.
- Register new patients by capturing demographic details, creating patient files and OPD cards, issuing UHID numbers, and keeping hospital records accurate.
- Plan and reconfirm appointments based on doctor and department schedules.
- Support billing and admissions, collect payments, and step in to cover reception tasks when required.
- Explain hospital procedures, insurance processes, and TPA requirements to patients, while coordinating with internal teams to keep patient movement smooth.
- Manage incoming calls, address patient questions, share correct information about doctors and services, and transfer calls to the right department.
- Protect patient data and personal details by following hospital confidentiality rules and regulatory requirements.
- Keep departmental documentation current, complete, and well organized.
Qualifications and experience
- A graduate degree in any field is required.
- At least 2 years of experience in a hospital or clinic front office setting is preferred.
- Working knowledge of MS Office and hospital management systems is needed.
- Strong spoken and written communication abilities are expected.
- Good interpersonal ability and a customer-focused approach are important.
