This role sits within a team that creates, installs, and supports integrated security systems designed to protect people, assets, and data from start to finish. Work spans site assessments, solution design, installation, asset upkeep, and ongoing support.
An experienced Electronic Security Engineer is now required for the Lower Hutt team in Wellington.

Role Overview
You will be responsible for delivering quality electronic security solutions for both existing and new customers throughout New Zealand. The position is senior, hands-on, and influences design, implementation, and post-installation support.
Key Duties
- Assess requirements, create designs, and engineer new security solutions
- Plan and implement upgrades and system extensions
- Lead larger or more complex jobs as on-site foreman when needed
- Install, configure, and commission electronic security systems
- Provide technical guidance and product support to business development and tender teams
- Assist clients and internal teams with technical troubleshooting and support
- Prepare detailed project records such as cable schedules, configuration documents, and site photos
- Complete handover packs, including as-built documents, CAD drawings, asset records, and monitoring details
- Take part in an after-hours on-call rotation
- Carry out both preventive and corrective maintenance work
- Coach and support junior technicians
- Oversee health and safety requirements on assigned projects
- Bring broad senior-level technical expertise to project delivery and support
Essential Requirements
- Current eligibility for, or the ability to obtain and maintain, New Zealand Government National Security Clearance at Secret level or higher
- Willingness and ability to travel within New Zealand and internationally when required
- Demonstrated background delivering electronic security solutions in field-based environments
- Strong practical experience with CCTV systems, deployment, and support
- Good knowledge of IT infrastructure and networking
- Ability to work directly and confidently with clients and stakeholders
- Strong fault-finding ability and a proactive, solution-oriented approach
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor of Information Technology in Network & Infrastructure Systems, or equivalent industry experience
- Experience working with API integrations and collaborating with software development teams
- Comfort using Microsoft Teams, SharePoint, and similar platforms
Preferred Certifications
- Experience with Bosch, Gallagher, or similar enterprise security platforms
- Network and infrastructure administration certifications
- Site Safe certification
- Microsoft ecosystem certifications
