Director, Houston Operations

Role overview

The Houston Operations Director will be accountable for the day-to-day running of janitorial operations across several client locations in the assigned region. The role focuses on delivering services efficiently, keeping costs under control, and maintaining a consistently high service standard. This leader will report to the Director of Operations, guide the Route Manager, Project Manager, and Supervisors, own full P&L responsibility for the account portfolio, and serve as the main client contact for the region.

Operational management

• Direct janitorial service delivery across all facilities assigned within the region.
• Make sure staff follow safety rules, client requirements, and company policies.
• Keep regular contact with customers to sustain strong satisfaction levels.
• Carry out routine site checks to confirm that quality expectations are being met.

Team leadership and development

• Lead, train, and support the regional management team.
• Offer continuous coaching and feedback to drive better performance.
• Review employee performance and contribute to development plans.
• Hire new team members as needed to ensure proper staffing and coverage.

Budgeting and cost control

• Build and manage regional budgets so financial goals are achieved.
• Track labor, supply, and equipment spending to protect profitability.
• Find and implement ways to reduce costs without lowering service quality.

Client relationship management

• Act as the primary contact for important regional clients and ensure their expectations are met.
• Address customer concerns quickly and professionally.
• Hold regular client review meetings to assess performance and collect feedback for improvement.

Education and experience

A high school diploma is required. A bachelor’s degree in business administration, facilities management, or a similar field is preferred. The position calls for at least 5 years of experience in janitorial services, facilities management, or a related area, including 2 years or more in a managerial or supervisory capacity. Experience overseeing multiple locations is preferred. A valid driver’s license and access to personal transportation are also required.
