About the Role

Bluecurrent Australia & New Zealand is seeking a Digital Services Manager in Wellington to own a digital service area and help strengthen the services that underpin the company’s strategic objectives. This position is focused on keeping digital services dependable, supported, and aligned with business priorities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Take accountability for a digital service domain, including the stability and performance of applications already in production.
  • Maintain and prioritise a queue of issues, service requests, minor enhancements, and improvement opportunities.
  • Work with business and technical stakeholders to understand problems, explore realistic solutions, and agree on delivery order.
  • Support the handover of services from projects into BAU, including the definition of support and change needs.
  • Spot repeated issues and identify ways to improve reliability and overall service performance.
  • Weigh up new functionality, operational commitments, technical debt, and service risk when making decisions.
  • Ensure digital services follow security, data protection, and sound operational practices.
  • Keep service documentation current, including processes, support arrangements, and working practices.

What We’re Looking For

The ideal candidate will have a bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related discipline, plus proven experience across digital services, service delivery, stakeholder coordination, and problem solving.

Experience supporting or overseeing live digital services is important, along with knowledge of service health, operational performance, incident handling, service transition, and continuous improvement. Exposure to ITIL or similar service management frameworks will be a strong advantage.

You should also bring solid backlog management and prioritisation capability, with the judgement to balance business needs, minor enhancements, operational issues, and technical debt. Strong communication skills are essential, as this role involves acting as the link between business and technical teams, influencing decisions, handling competing priorities, and staying organised in a fast-moving environment.
