About the role

The company is hiring a Senior Data Scientist to join its core Platform Team as an Applied Scientist. In this role, you will help improve the AI models behind FutureSecure.ai’s proactive intelligence capabilities. You will work with engineers and scientists to apply machine learning, data mining, and statistical methods to build, deploy, and improve systems that support smooth human-AI collaboration. The position is based in Austin, Texas.

Key responsibilities

• Assess and improve machine learning models that interpret user intent, forecast workflow needs, and strengthen collaboration between people and AI.
• Analyze, clean, and transform large-scale interaction data to uncover patterns and create useful model features.
• Partner with engineering teams to release models into production and track their ongoing performance, including retraining where needed.
• Keep up with current progress in machine learning, data science, and human-computer interaction, and use those insights to enhance the platform.
• Plan and run experiments, including A/B tests, to measure the impact of new models and features on user experience and collaboration.
• Communicate technical findings clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, and work closely with engineers, UX researchers, and product managers.
• Contribute to the platform architecture by supporting model integration, scalability, and efficiency.
• Use data to understand how users interact with AI and anticipate where proactive support or insight may be helpful.

Minimum qualifications

• At least 5 years of experience working as an Applied Scientist, Data Scientist, or Machine Learning Engineer.
• A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a similar field.
• Strong knowledge of machine learning methods such as regression, classification, clustering, and deep learning.
• Hands-on experience with Python and ML libraries or frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, or scikit-learn.
• Practical experience with data mining, data preparation, and feature engineering.
• Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving capability.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Preferred qualifications

• A master’s degree or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related discipline.
• Experience working with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
