பணி விளக்கம்
Role overview
Singapore Malay Chamber of Commerce & Industry (SMCCI) is hiring a proactive and well-organised Assistant Manager on a 2-year contract. The role is designed for someone who can support department operations, coordinate with stakeholders, help run programmes and events, and keep reporting and follow-ups on track. This position sits above an Executive-level scope but continues to operate under the guidance of the Manager or Department Manager.
What you will do
You will help manage departmental plans, timelines, deliverables, and follow-up actions; track pending items and key milestones; coordinate with Secretariat teams; and prepare updates, summaries, reports, and presentations for review. You will also assist in improving internal workflows, templates, records, and documentation.
The role also covers membership and stakeholder engagement, including support for member queries, onboarding, renewals, outreach, retention activities, and record-keeping of interactions with members, partners, agencies, vendors, and service providers. When issues are complex or sensitive, you will escalate them to the Manager or senior leadership.
In addition, you will support the planning and delivery of programmes, events, workshops, meetings, masterclasses, and business engagements. This includes timelines, logistics, registrations, attendance tracking, speaker and vendor coordination, and post-event summaries or feedback collection.
You will also assist with business development and partnership-related work such as follow-ups on collaborations, sponsorships, proposals, briefing notes, meeting records, referral support, and stakeholder introductions. Administrative work may include minutes, proposals, internal updates, filing, approvals, budget tracking, procurement requests, vendor coordination, payment documents, and materials for management, board, committee, or stakeholder meetings.
The position includes support for digital tools and process improvement initiatives, including CRM systems, shared drives, spreadsheets, databases, reporting templates, and AI tools. You may also guide junior staff, executives, interns, or temporary staff where needed and help coordinate work across different teams.
Candidate profile
SMCCI is looking for someone with a Diploma or Degree in Business, Management, Communications, Marketing, or a related discipline, together with around 3 to 5 years of relevant experience. Background in chambers of commerce, trade associations, membership organisations, SME support organisations, events, partnerships, stakeholder engagement, or programme coordination will be an advantage.
The ideal candidate should have strong communication skills, solid planning and coordination ability, good follow-up habits, and the confidence to manage several deadlines and stakeholders at the same time. You should be comfortable drafting reports, minutes, proposals, presentations, and management updates, and be proficient with Microsoft Office, CRM platforms, or similar digital tools. A professional, tactful approach and the ability to handle confidential information appropriately are essential.
Compensation and benefits
The monthly salary is SGD 3,300 to SGD 3,600, depending on experience and suitability. The role offers the chance to contribute to the growth of Malay/Muslim businesses and SMEs in Singapore, along with exposure to membership engagement, business development, partnerships, programmes, and stakeholder management. It also provides professional development through cross-functional and strategic work.
Work location
This is an on-site role based at Singapore Malay Chamber of Commerce & Industry, 15 Jalan Pinang, Singapore 199147 and 601 MacPherson Road, #07-13, Singapore 368242.
