Assistant Manager, Client Onboarding

Role overview

We are looking for an experienced and motivated Manager or Assistant Manager to join the Client Onboarding function, with a strong emphasis on KYC and CDD work. The position plays an important part in onboarding both individual and corporate customers, while also supporting ongoing due diligence in line with regulatory obligations and internal control standards.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out and review customer due diligence and know-your-customer checks for individual and corporate clients, making sure the information is complete and compliant with applicable rules.
• Complete screening, risk evaluation, and enhanced due diligence where a higher level of review is required.
• Strengthen and refine onboarding, processing, and client maintenance controls and workflows to support compliance and improve turnaround time.
• Identify onboarding challenges early and put suitable risk-reduction measures in place.
• Act as the first escalation point for complicated or high-risk matters, offering practical direction and recommendations.
• Keep abreast of AML/CFT requirements, sanctions developments, and market practices, and advise stakeholders on any updates needed to internal processes.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of relevant experience in KYC/CDD, ideally gained in financial services or a closely related sector.
• Solid understanding of MAS AML/CFT regulations and current industry standards.
• Practical experience in verifying source of wealth and preparing supporting documentation.
• Proven ability to manage complex client profiles and conduct source of wealth reviews.
• Strong analytical ability, communication skills, and stakeholder management capability.
• A detail-focused, accountable professional who can make sound decisions in uncertain situations.
