Role Overview

This position sits within the Transportation and Logistics team and is central to keeping vehicles moving smoothly through preparation, inspection and handover. The Vehicle Progressor supports the sales and service departments, coordinates vehicle movement, and helps ensure every vehicle reaches customers in excellent condition.

The ideal candidate will be a capable and confident driver with prior experience in a comparable role and a full, clean UK driving licence.

Main Responsibilities

• Move new and used vehicles safely and efficiently from delivery through preparation, inspection and readiness for sale or handover.
• Work closely with the sales, service, preparation and logistics teams to keep vehicle movement flowing without delays.
• Carry out vehicle checks to confirm they meet company standards and flag any issues that need attention.
• Keep internal systems updated with accurate information on each vehicle’s progress and status.
• Organise vehicle positioning and movement across the site and compound to maintain safe, orderly parking.
• Help keep the premises clean, tidy and safe at all times.
• Coordinate with outside partners such as transport providers and refurbishment businesses when required.

Requirements

• Background in an automotive, dealership, logistics or similar setting.
• Previous experience handling vehicle movement in a dealership forecourt and compound environment.
• High attention to detail and the ability to complete careful vehicle inspections.
• Basic knowledge of vehicle-related paperwork and systems.
• Strong planning, organisation and time management abilities.
• Ability to work on your own and juggle several priorities at once.
• Good communication skills and confidence working with different teams.
• Comfortable working outdoors in changing weather conditions.
• Willingness to work varied hours when needed.
• A full, clean UK driving licence is mandatory.

The Bolton Kia site is spread across two buildings on Middlebrook Retail Park, with free parking and access from Junction 6 of the M61. Horwich Parkway is the nearest train station. The building offers step-free access throughout.
