Role Summary
The Systems Administrator will oversee the organization’s core IT environment, keeping infrastructure, enterprise software, and business systems running securely and reliably. The position centers on Windows-based environments, Microsoft Azure, Microsoft 365, ERP platforms, CIS applications, SQL databases, and manufacturing/engineering software. The main goal is to maintain availability, performance, security, and stability across the technology stack that supports daily operations.
Key Responsibilities
System and Network Administration
- Set up, configure, maintain, and support Windows servers, user devices, and enterprise applications.
- Administer and resolve issues across switches, routers, firewalls, wireless networks, and VPN access.
- Track system health, uptime, and network performance to keep services dependable and secure.
- Manage Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, and identity-related services.
- Control user access, permissions, and account management in line with security rules.
- Support backup routines, disaster recovery planning, and business continuity measures.
- Carry out upgrades, patching, and the lifecycle management of hardware and software.
Enterprise Applications, ERP, CIS, and SQL
- Maintain and troubleshoot ERP platforms, CIS tools, and other essential business applications.
- Partner with business teams to identify and resolve issues related to applications and data.
- Administer SQL Server environments, including maintenance, monitoring, backups, and recovery.
- Build, update, and debug SQL queries, reports, and data integrations.
- Protect the integrity, accuracy, and security of data across enterprise systems.
- Support application upgrades, deployments, testing, and integrations.
- Keep clear records of configurations, workflows, and support steps.
Cloud and Virtualization
- Manage Microsoft Azure services, including virtual machines, storage, networking, and identity features.
- Oversee Azure Active Directory (Entra ID), Microsoft 365 administration, and hybrid cloud setups.
- Support VMware and other virtual infrastructure environments.
- Review cloud usage and suggest improvements for performance, security, and cost efficiency.
- Assist with cloud migration and modernization efforts.
IT Support and Security
- Deliver Tier 2 and Tier 3 support for hardware, software, network, application, and database issues.
- Diagnose and fix complex technical problems affecting users and business activities.
- Implement cybersecurity safeguards, endpoint protection, vulnerability handling, and security best practices.
- Take part in security reviews, compliance efforts, and incident response tasks.
- Keep documentation updated for systems, procedures, troubleshooting, and standards.
- Ensure work aligns with company policies, security expectations, and industry standards.
Collaboration and Project Support
- Work with IT leadership and business departments on projects, upgrades, and strategic technology initiatives.
- Contribute to ERP, CIS, infrastructure, and cloud implementation projects.
- Coordinate with vendors, consultants, and external service providers.
- Offer technical guidance and user training where needed.
- Stay informed about new technologies, industry developments, and ongoing professional growth.
Requirements
Education and Experience
- An associate degree or bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a similar discipline is preferred, though equivalent experience and education may also be considered.
- At least 3 to 5 years of experience in systems administration, network administration, or enterprise application support.
- Hands-on experience with Windows Server, Windows 10/11, Microsoft 365, and Microsoft Azure.
- Background supporting ERP platforms, CIS applications, and other business software.
- Experience managing Microsoft SQL Server environments.
- Working knowledge of SQL development, database administration concepts, reporting, and data integration.
- Exposure to virtualization platforms such as VMware.
- Experience in manufacturing, engineering, or industrial software environments is preferred.
- Experience with PTC tools such as Creo or Windchill is preferred.
- Experience with Infor CloudSuite ERP is preferred.
- Understanding of core networking concepts and protocols such as TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPNs, and firewalls.
- Relevant certifications like AZ-104, MCSE, Network+, Security+, or similar are preferred.
Skills and Abilities
- Broad systems administration and troubleshooting capability across servers, endpoints, networks, cloud services, and applications.
- Strong SQL query writing, reporting, and database support skills.
- Solid understanding of ERP and CIS workflows and business processes.
- Strong analytical thinking and attention to detail.

Work Environment
This position requires up to 40% travel within the Mountain and Pacific regions to provide on-site technical support at different company locations.
While performing the role, the employee will regularly sit, speak, hear, and use hands to handle or touch objects and controls. The role also involves frequent standing and walking, with occasional stooping, bending, kneeling, and reaching above shoulder level.
The employee may occasionally need to lift or move objects weighing up to 25 pounds. Required vision abilities include close, distant, color, peripheral, and depth perception, along with the ability to adjust focus.

This role is focused on supporting critical technology infrastructure, enterprise systems, and business applications in a manufacturing and engineering-oriented environment. The work includes both hands-on technical support and collaboration with internal teams and outside partners.
