Support Worker

About the Job

This role supports people with disability through a mix of personal care, home assistance, community access, and goal-focused support. The work varies by client and may include hands-on daily living help, practical household support, mentoring, transport assistance, and implementing individual support plans.

Key Duties

• Provide personal support such as showering, shaving, toileting, dressing, pressure sore care, meal preparation, manual handling, and medication assistance.
• Carry out general household support including tidying, light maintenance, washing, help with phone calls and emails, reading, and filing.
• Assist with support plan delivery, including mental health strategies, cognitive approaches, behavioural plans, physiotherapy exercises, wellbeing routines, and diet support.
• Help clients work toward personal goals and complete progress, capacity-building, and request-based reports.
• Offer mentoring support across life skills, education, problem-solving, business support, and employment support.
• Assist with transport training, community participation, and access to leisure shifts.

Requirements

• Must bring a caring attitude, strong work ethic, reliability, flexibility, and a willingness to work independently.
• Ability to follow instructions carefully and communicate clearly in both written and spoken form.
• Report writing is part of the role.
• Driver’s licence and access to a personal vehicle are required.
• Police clearance is required.
• Current first aid certification is required.
